Coleme Patsel Obituary

Coleme Carter Patsel, 83, of Roanoke, Va., passed away on Wednesday, August 12, 2009. Born in Franklin County on June 20, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Carrie Lee Brown and James Robert Carter. Also preceding her in death was her husband, James Montel Patsel; brothers, Claude W., Royce L., Virgil C., Walter L., James E., and Raymond D. Carter; and sisters, Sceva C. Divers and Ruby C. Goodman. Surviving are four sisters-in-law, Eliza "Sis" Carter, Virginia Carter, Thelma Holland, and Annie Agee; along with many nieces and nephews including a special niece and nephew, Peggy and Stuart Brown, of High Point, N.C., who cared for her for many years, and Dennis Goodman, who visited her so diligently the past three months. The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 13, 2009, from 6 to 8 p.m.. in the Roanoke Chapel of Lotz Funeral Home. A graveside funeral service will be held 10 a.m. on Friday, August 14, 2009, at Mountain View Burial Park, Vinton, with the Rev. Phillip Ayers officiating.
