J.C. Trail, 80, of Roanoke, Va., passed away on Tuesday, August 18, 2009. J.C. was a business owner for many years before retiring from Richfield Retirement Center. He was preceded in death by his parents, Posey and Gracie Trail; and several brothers and sisters. He is survived by his wife, Ella Trail, of Roanoke; son, Rickie Trail and wife, Joy, of Portsmouth; daughter, Sandy Thompson and husband, J.D.; grandson, Brad Thompson and wife, Tiffany; and greatgrandson, Peyton, all of Salem. A funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. on Friday, August 21, 2009, in the chapel of John M. Oakey & Son with the Reverend Orlando English officiating. Interment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening, August 20, 2009, from 6 to 8 p.m. at John M. Oakey and Son, Salem.
