Gloria Jean Williams Hurt

Gloria Jean Williams Hurt, 62, of Rocky Mount, Va., went to be with the Lord after a long brave battle with cancer on Thursday, August 20, 2009. She was a loving mother, devoted wife, true friend and an inspiration to all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Benny B. Sr. and Katherine Shepherd Wright. Surviving are her husband, O. Wesley Hurt; daughters and sons-in-law, Gena and Jeff Willis, of Callaway, Angela and Mike Fitts, of Boones Mill, and Maria Williams Terry and Terronez Moore, of Wirtz; a stepson, Jason Wesley Hurt; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bennie and Robin Wright, and Richard and Dianne Wright; sisters and brothers-in-law, Joyce Spradlin, Sherry and David Altizer, Bonita Williams, Carol and Kent Hodges, and Lona and Granville Edwards; six grandchildren, Ariel Fitts, Meredith Fitts, Casey Hylton, Trey Scott, Alan Terry, and Sadie Willis; and two greatgrandchildren, Aiden and Emma. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. on Sunday, August 23, 2009, from Flora Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Melvin Harris officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park.
