Daniel Fix Obituary

Daniel Elmer Fix Jr., 82, of Lexington, Va., died Saturday, August 22, 2009, at Spring Tree Health and Rehab Nursing Home. Born April 28, 1927, he was the son of the late Daniel Elmer Fix Sr. and Beulah Knick Fix. He was preceded in death by first wife, Mary Blackwell Fix; his second wife, Margaret B. Selke; and one brother, Fred Hunter Fix Sr. Surviving are his children, Donna F. Thompson and husband, Larry, of Moneta, Va., Judy Broughman, Daniel A. Fix and wife, Sandra; one foster daughter, Helen Overby, of Reidsville, N.C.; eight grandchildren; and nine greatgrandchildren. Also surviving are four sisters, Violet Clark, Flossie Fix, Thelma Hall, of Lexington, and Helen Bolling, of Roanoke. Mr. Fix was retired from Reeves Brothers where he worked as a supervisor. He was a member of Chestnut Grove Baptist Church and attended Grace Chapel. Contributions may be made to Gideon's International, P.O. Box 140800, Nashville, Tenn. 37214 to Daniel Elmer Fix Jr. behalf. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 26, 2009, at the Harrison Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Gary Short officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, August 25, 2009, from 6 to 8 p.m. Interment will be at Rockbridge Memorial Gardens after the service. Arrangements by Harrison Funeral Home and Crematory, Lexington, Va.
