Mildred Moore Obituary

Mildred Walters Moore, 91, of Roanoke, Va., passed into her eternal home on Saturday, August 29, 2009. She was retired from Heironimus after 40+ years of service. Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, William Henry Moore Sr.; her daughters, Barbara Maxine Stanley and Myrtle Elizabeth Anderson; and her granddaughter, Deborah Sue Spradlin. She is survived by her son, William (Bill) Moore Jr. and wife, Bonnie, of Roanoke; 13 grandchildren; and 18 greatgrandchildren. The family suggests memorials be made to Bonsack United Methodist Church or Vinton Baptist Church in her memory. A Memorial Service will be held 2 p.m. on Wednesday, September 2, 2009, at Vinton Baptist Church, which would have been her 92nd birthday, with the Rev. Dr. William E. Booth and the Rev. Tim Tate officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements by Oakey's East Chapel, Bonsack, 540-977-3909.

Our deepest heartfelt sympathy to the family. We did not know Mildred, but as members of the Floyd Family Internet Group, we knew her daughter Barbara Stanley.

Mildred, was such an integral part of our extended family. She and Henry were angels to Linda and Cori when they needed them the most. They became the extended family they didn't have. Mildred was a true inspiration to us and her friendship, guidance and wisdom will not be forgotten.

Mom, Bill and I are going to miss you even though we lost you two years ago when the awful disease dementia took over. We are so thankful that you are at rest now and with Henry,Myrtle and Barbara and your brothers and sisters. What a day of rejoicing you must be having. We will always remember your strength. We will love and miss you forever. Bill and Bonnie

I will never forget Miss Moore's smile, taking her samples, and visiting her oven baked room. (while I visited her in the nursing home)
God spread grace on the family.
GOD SPEED,
Sheri
