Lockett Boston Obituary

Lockett Lucille Barrett (Shirley) Boston, 78, of Vinton, Va., went home to be with the Lord on Monday, August 31, 2009. She had worked for a number of years in Dr. Curtis Gardner's Dental Office. She was the widow of Leslie Boston and is also preceded in death by two brothers, William and Wilmer Castle. Surviving are sons and daughters-in-law, Scott and Robin Boston, Teddy Boston and Bobbi Yost, all of Botetourt County; daughters, Deborah Stephenson, of Wise, Va., and Tammy Boston, of Salem; grandchildren, Les Boston, Bryan Boston, Ashleigh Kitts, Mitch and Jesse Boston; three great-grandchildren, brother, Benny Castle, of Abingdon, Va.; sisters, Trula Davidson, of Abingdon, Va., Ocie Church, of Florida, and Bonnie Bowyer, of Forest, Va.; special friends, Mike Fitzgerald, Geneva Woods, Phyllis Leaver and June Clark; special caregiver, Frances Carter; and her special canine friend, Cody. The family suggests memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Roanoke Valley SPCA. The family would like to give a special thanks to Carrington Place and the General Shepherd Hospice for all their care. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. on Thursday, September 3, 2009, at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel with Dr. Phillip Martin officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Burial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, September 2, 2009, and before the service on Thursday at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel, 540-982-2100.
