Patricia Odum Obituary

A very special and loving mother, daughter, sister and friend, Patricia Gale Dunford Odum, 57, of Riner, Va., went home to be with our Lord on Sunday, August 30, 2009. She was preceded in death by her loving mother, Maxine Virginia Dunford. Pat will be remembered fondly but missed sadly by her family and her numerous friends. Surviving relatives include her father, William Franklin Dunford; daughters, Michelle Dawn Odum and Krista Jean Odum Humphrey; brothers, Ronald Edward St. Pierre and wife, Ellie, Michael David Dunford, and wife, Shirley; sister, Susan Rebecca Dunford Duncan, and husband, Glen; grandchildren, Charlotte and Andrew Humphrey; nephews, Scott St. Pierre, Shane and Brandon Duncan; great-niece and nephew, Rachael and Adam St. Pierre; and special friends, Jane Harriman, Nancy Lipford, and Maureen Langdon. Everyone who knew Pat loved Pat. She was an inspiration to all who knew her. She treasured her friends and family the most in life and it was an honor and blessing to be her friend or family member. Pat carried the following prayer in her prayer bracelet: "Dear Almighty Lord Thank you for my special family and friends. My prayer is that we all remain close on this earth and be reunited in Heaven as a unit." Pat will be remembered by us all for her compassionate love, her genuine honesty, her beautiful integrity and her love for the lord. Pat very much wished for her friends and family to celebrate her life and not mourn her death. Her wishes are being honored by having a Memorial Celebration Hour followed by a simple graveside service on Thursday, September 3, 2009, at Beaver Creek Church of the Brethren in Floyd, Va. The Memorial hour will be at 1 p.m. followed by the graveside service at 2 p.m. led by Pastor, Marvin Wade. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society at P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, Okla. 73123-1718. Close friends and family are invited to her home after the service for a meal. Online Condolences may be left at www.maberryfuneral home.com. Arrangements by Maberry Funeral Home, Floyd.

Though Pat has gone on, she is,will, and allways be here with her Family, and her friends but not with the pain and disconforts that she accepted as part of her life.Even though out the fifteen years that we were together,we went on with all of richness and the difference we still kept the richness that made up our family. The family that she loved as much as we love her. What we need to remind our selfs is that though she not here physically. She is at her place where there is no more suffering which is with God and in our Hearts.
To Krista and Michelle whom she had a very special place for them in her heart now she will always be with you in your hearts and reminder that I'll allways be here for you.
Remmember that I'm will always be just ten numbers away from you, love from your Father.
