Jeanne Brown Obituary

Jeanne D. Brown, of Rocky Mount, Va., and formerly of Salem, Va., went to rest in the hands of her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, September 1, 2009, at the age of 80. She was born on August 27, 1929, in Farmville, Va., the daughter of the late Kenneth and Ethel Simmons Sr. Survivors include her husband, William D. Brown; one daughter, Deborah Wilson and husband, Charles Wilson, of Raymore, Mo.; one brother, Kenneth Simmons Jr. and his wife, Phyllis, of Thaxton, Va.; and many nieces, nephews and friends. She graduated from Jefferson High School in Roanoke. She loved attending church, flower gardening and cooking. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. on Thursday, September 3, 2009, at Oakey's North Chapel with Pastor Pete Watts officiating. The interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will be receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, September 2, 2009, at Oakey's North Chapel, 540-362-1237.
