Steven Wheeling Obituary

Steven Gower Wheeling, 50, of Stafford County, Va., died on Sunday, August 30, 2009, while hiking the Appalachian Trail. Mr. Wheeling was an avid scuba diver. He was licensed to operate submarines and charter boats and was also a pilot. Survivors include his father, Clevo Wheeling, of Stafford; his brothers, David Wheeling and his wife, Cindy, of Haymarket, and Darren Wheeling and his wife, Kam, of Fuquay-Varina, N.C.; and two nephews, Adam and Jason Wheeling. He was preceded in death by his mother, Diane Rolley Wheeling. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 5, 2009, at Covenant Funeral Service, Stafford Chapel, 1310 Courthouse Road, Stafford. Interment will be held 2 p.m. on Sunday, September 6, 2009, in Myers Cemetery in Hillsville. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, September 4, 2009, at the funeral home.
