Susan Giroir Obituary

Susan Elizabeth Giroir of Slidell, La., passed away on Monday, August 10, 2009, at her home in Slidell, La. She was preceded in death by her loving mother, Mary Elizabeth Lawson Thompson; and her father, Sherman Street. Susan is survived by her son, Eric Joseph "Joey" Giroir Jr., of Slidell, La.; two brothers, Gerald W. Mabry and wife, Phyllis Mabry, of Blacksburg, Va., and William K. Mabry and wife, Martha Mabry, of Radford, Va.; two sisters, Cynthia "Sissy" Evon Street, of Slidell, La., and Mary M. Hudson, and husband, Jud Hudson, of Hampton, Va.; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was born in Lakeland, Fla., on April 10, 1962, and was a resident of Slidell, La., for 27 years. Susan loved living in her houseboat on the water and visiting the home of her ancestors in the mountains of Pidgeon Forge, Tenn. She was a former ballroom dancer and instructor. She helped many people in Slidell during the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. She was a tenderhearted, loving and kind soul to all who came into her presence. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to an informal celebration of Susan's life to be held 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 12, 2009, at the home of her uncle, Fred Lawson, at 3636 Price's Fork Road, Blacksburg, Va.

We Love and will Miss you Very Much Susan.Its still a shock about your sudden passing.You will be truely missed.I still remember the good times we had in 97 when I spent the summer in Slidell with you we had some really fun times.I know your with your mom and others in heaven now and we will see you again someday.To her Son Joey and Sister Sissy and Eric and the other family members our hearts go out to you [email protected]
