Corine Sellers Tate Gravely, a lifelong citizen of Roanoke City, Va., passed away on Saturday, September 5, 2009, in Lynchburg, Va. She was born on December 4, 1920, to Hallie Burnette Sellers and Charles Wallace Sellers. Twice married, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Earl Wayne Tate and LeRoy Gravely; her sister, Mary Jefferson; and her brother, Thomas Sellers. Survivors are daughters, Dianne Tate Crush and husband, Tom Crush, of Forest, and Barbara Tate Moore, of Richmond. For many years she worked for Wells and Meagre, Architects; Roanoke City Schools; and Sidney's clothing store as their personnel director. She was a lifelong member of Raleigh Court Methodist Church in Roanoke where her parents were charter members. She was also a member of the Women's Club of Roanoke. Corine was the matriarch of our family and a great friend to many. Her wisdom and great personality will be remembered by all who knew her. We will always smile when we think of our beloved Corine and laugh when we tell stories of our experiences with her. She was a special lady with many affectionate titles such as "Mama," "Meemaw," and "Rene." Dear Dianne, Barbie & families,

So sad to hear about the passing of our beloved "Granny Tate". So many years as wonderful friends and neighbors. Where has the time gone. One fond memory to share--Connie, Neil & I would always give Granny our black jellybeans at Easter--she loved them & we glad!!!!!! Such fun memories of growing up across the street & then come back years later when I had the twins & Tommy {Harry} gone to Vietnam in '66. I could not have made it through those 14 months without your love support . Dad passed away 9-6-04 & Mom is at Richfield assisted living since 07 at age 85 now. She sends her love & prayers too--your Mom would always say when I would see her in the grocery store "we should have lunch together soon & catch up." Hope we can do that in the near future.

Love & Blessings to you all
