Tommy grew up in my neighborhood of Palmer Park in Roanoke VA. He was younger than me and he was a very likeable kid. When encountering Tommy I can always remember how he would tilt his head and squint one eye while smiling. I always enjoyed talking to Tommy and always tried to mentor him in the right direction. Tommy was someone whom I always thought had a really good hearted nature and was deserving of a break in life. Later on I used to see Tommy when he worked at Crossroads Mall and we would always say hello and chat briefly. He passed away so very young in life and I certainly wished he would have gotten a break from that unfortunate fate. For some reason he is on my mind today over 10 years after his death. Thus I would like to hope Tommy can still somehow hear me say to him "Hello Tom Tom". And I imagine him tilting his head, squinting his eye, and grinning while answering by saying "Hey Mick".
