Dear Carter family, I'm deeply sorry for the loss of Dan. He was a very spirited person who loved life, his family and friends. Janney I saw Dan a few months ago and all he kept saying was how proud he was of you and how you cared so much for the children you take care of.

Dear Carter family. All I could think or say about Dan would be really good things. He was a great person all the way around. My brothers and father know the same. I'd say that I'm sorry for your loss, but I don't truly believe that Dan is ever going to be far away from you and those he loves in heart and spirit. But I do send all of my best to you and yours in this hard time that you're going through. May you all find peace of mind and heart.

Daniel was one of the first guys I met when we moved to Danville when I was in the 5th grade. He was so good to me and welcomed me to be part of his friends and family.

Charles and Janice,
I am not very good at expressing myself in times like these. I know you two are wonderful parents and that no parent should have to lose a child. I didn't find out until Friday and had events and another funeral at 11 today so I just couldn't get there. You have been in my prayers and thoughts today. I know I have a hard time in thinking about why these kinds of things happen to us but it faith in our Lord that allows us to somehow get through.
I hope to get to see you soon.

My heart has been so heavy the past few days since hearing of Dan's death. He was uch a good friend to all my sons and always had a smile on his face. We will all miss him and I pray his family will find strength in knowing what a great young man he was.

To My Dear Friend Janice,
I was so saddened to hear about the loss of your son. I know it must be hard for you to bear because I know how much you love your family. The amazing thing about you is that you also love others and reach out to comfort, help, and soothe others who are in need. I wish I knew what to say that could in some way help you. I simply don't. I can only pray that you and your family will feel the outpouring of love and heartfelt prayers that are being offered to each of you. I can recall many times that you shared stories with me about Dan and although I never met him in person, I can tell that he was a very special person just through the words you spoke about him so lovingly. I know people say this all the time but if you need me, I am only a phone call or email away Janice. I MEAN THAT!!! I can't take away the pain, but I pray that your tender heart will be comforted by our loving Heavenly Father. I am just so sorry that you are having to go through this. Sending hugs and lots of love your way!

Chuck & Janice, I know what you are going through and I can tell you that it will get easier as time goes by. You will never forget him or the pain of loosing him but you will one day be able to pick yourself up. The only advice I can give is to trust in God and his plans! I know this was hard for me to hear when I was told this but I am learning to do this. The only thing that gets me through the day is that I know that one day I will be able to see him again. I am sorry for your loss.
Janney, I remember coming over and Dan being there.I always liked him. He was so funny and full of life. I am so sorry!

Dan was only one year younger than me. We skated & went to all the same schools growing up. I feel like Ive lost a piece of my heart that Ill never get back. I will miss his friendship & sense of humor.

Chuck, Janice and Janney, We don't know each other, but I'm afraid we have a bond that neither of us wished for. I lost my precious 26-year old son, Jordan, in June and I know the heartache you feel. No parent should have to face what we have to face. There will be no end to the grief we have to bear, but I have found the only source that helps me is the contact I have with another mother who lost her child at 19. No matter how well-meaning, loving and kind anyone is, unless they have been through the loss of a child, there is no understanding like that of someone who has been there. I just want you to know I care and if you ever feel the need for someone like me, please let me know. I will pray for your family.

I had the wonderful opportunity to meet Dan when he was 10 years old. Friends and laughing along with them while having many misadventures were the highlights of my childhood. I will always remember Dan and the well spent times we shared. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

I have know Dan for the past eleven years. He was an usher in my weeding. He made me laugh when I was going down the isle because he know I was nervous. He could always make me laugh. I will miss him dearly.

I never got the chance to get to know Dan as well as I may have liked, but the memories I have of him are fond. I will always remember him for his sincerity, kindness, and smile... my prayers and heart is with his family now and forever. WE GONNA MISS YOU BIG DAN!!
