Elizabeth Williams Obituary

Elizabeth Kirby Atkins Williams, 93, formerly of Roanoke, passed away on Thursday, September 10, 2009. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Henry and Mary Elizabeth (Walker) Kirby, her first husband, William M. Atkins, her second husband, Artis R. (Bill) Williams, a brother, Thomas A. Kirby and stepson, Donald R. Williams. She is survived by her daughter, Mary Ann (Atkins) Blackwell; stepdaughter, Patricia (Williams) Mavis; grandchildren, Deborah Blackwell, Jeffrey (Melinda D'Angelo) Blackwell, Carolyn Hoaglin, Tammy Childress, Randy (Shelly) Mavis, Melinda Williams, Michelle (Neil) Jaworski and their families. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, September 17, 2009 at Oakey's South Roanoke Chapel with the Rev. Donna Hopkins Britt officiating. Internment will follow in Evergreen Burial Park. The family will receive friends Thursday from 1 p.m. until service time at Oakey's South Roanoke Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Calvary Baptist Church, 608 Campbell Avenue SW, Roanoke, VA 24016.

I worked with Elizabeth 40 years ago at Kingoff's Jewelers on South Jefferson Street. She was such a sweet lady, always kind to me. She looks almost the same in her picture as she did then.
