Karen Janelle Day Mason

Karen Janelle Day Mason, 47, of Salem, Va., went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, September 16, 2009, at her home. Janelle was a loving and devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend who enjoyed life and will always be remembered for her many accomplishments in life, especially her dedication in home schooling her children. She is survived by her loving husband of 16 years, Reedy Mason; her children, Aaron Mason, of Midlothian, Scott Mason, Michael Maxey, Kristen Maxey and John Robert Mason, all of Salem; her parents, Robert W. and Carol J. Day, of Salem; her brothers, Michael A. Day and wife, Carolyn, and Robert (Rob) M. Day and wife, Cindy, all of Roanoke; Her mother-in-law and father-inlaw, Alice C. and John R. Mason Sr., of Roanoke; her brother-inlaw, Randy Mason and wife, Bonnie, of Salem; and she will be greatly missed by Pogo and Stripes. A service celebrating her life will be held 10 a.m. on Monday, September 21, 2009, at Oakey's North Chapel with Pastor Shawn Tanner officiating. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 20, 2009, from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. at Oakey's North Chapel, 540-362-1237.
