Ruby Emore Obituary

Ruby Campbell Wade Emore, 85, of Lexington, died Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at home. Born October 9, 1923 in Rockbridge County, the daughter of the late Thomas Albert Wade and Mary Bolen Wade. She was a member of Collierstown Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl H. Emore Sr., one son, Carl H. Emore Jr. and one daughter, Helen C. Emore. She is survived by her children, Linda E. Knick and husband, Wayne; Kenneth W. Emore and wife, Linda, both of Lexington, William P. Emore and wife, Kassandra, of Glasgow; and special daughter-in-law, Betty H. Emore, of Lexington. Also surviving are her brothers and sisters, Thomas Albert Wade, of Virginia Beach, Peggy Hayes, of Buena Vista, Becky Figgatt and Joe L. Wade, both of Lexington; ten grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, September 18, 2009 at McElwee Chapel with the Rev. Brian Weger officiating. Burial will follow in McElwee Cemetery. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Contributions can be made to Rockbridge area Hospice, PO Box 948, Lexington VA 24450 or Effinger Fire Department, 2824 Collierstown Road, Lexington, VA 24450.

Maw fought a hard battle and now may rest while being with Jesus. She leaves her family and those who knew her with love and fond memories. We will miss her.
