Margaret and I were privileged to share the warm and caring friendship of Al and Marge when we lived in Roanoke and attended First Presbyterian Church. We also shared Al's exemplary Christian witness. Al and Marge's Pioneer Sunday School class of many years ago was a treasured memory of mine.Al will really be missed by his friends.

Al and i worked at the Roanoke newspapers at the same time during the 1060s. He was a real Christian gentlemen and a highly professional newsman. May God bring peace which passes all understanding to his surviving family.
