Wilford Driscoll Obituary

Wilford (Tommy) Driscoll Sr., 65, of Blue Ridge, Va., left this world for a better place on Saturday, September 19, 2009. He said the best years of his life were after he accepted Jesus Christ as his personal saviour in 1994. He was employed at the Rainbo Bakery for 30 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Thelma Driscoll; sister, Carol Driscoll; and brother, George Pugh. Surviving is his loving wife of 47 years, Angie Driscoll; two of the finest sons and daughtersin-law anyone could ever want. They were by his side all of the way, Tommy Jr. and wife, Traci, and John and wife, Sara. A grandson that was so very special to him, Kevin Driscoll; granddaughter, Crystal Driscoll; stepgrandson, Josh Overstreet; stepgranddaughter, Amber Johnson; great-grandson, Brandon Leftwich; brother and sister-in-law, Leonard and Shirley Pugh; special relatives, Joey and Dede Harlow. Also left to cherish his memory are his six animals and all the strays he dedicated his life to helping. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Angels of Assisi, 415 Campbell Ave., Roanoke, Va. 24016 or to the SPCA, 1340 Baldwin Ave., Roanoke, Va 24012. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 22, 2009, at Simpson Funeral Home, 5160 Peters Creek Road, by the Rev. Roger Counts and the Rev. Leonard Pugh. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday at Simpson Funeral Home, 540-366-0707.

Angie and Family so sorry to hear of your loss...Tommy helped my Mother with mowing of her lawn for several years as also Angie set with my Mother in the afternoons. Tommy was a pleasant person and always had a smile on his face no matter what. When I think of Tommy all I can remember is kindess. Tommy and Angie was a prayer partner for my husband and myself...Thank you both for your prayers. We send our love and prayers for Angie and Family.
