Sherry Boone Obituary

Sherry Lee Barber Boone, of Roanoke, Va., died Friday, September 18, 2009, after a prolonged illness. She was preceded in death by her father, Mark Edward Barber; mother, Ruth English Barber Moses; stepfather, Robert Moses; and brother, Michael Moses. Surviving are three children, Deborah Kalafut (Michael), Lisa Flora (Terrill), George Boone (Trilyon); six grandchildren, Leanna Medley, John Calvert, George Michael Kalafut, Lane Boone, Thomas Kalafut and Noah Shelton; greatgranddaughter, Rakel McGuinnes; brother, Mark Barber (Becky); sisters, Delora Sutherland (Jess), Teresa Corvin; stepbrothers, Marvin Moses, Robert Moses; stepsister, Brenda Goff; and special friend, Thomas Bandy. Sherry loved her family and dedicated herself to them in ways too numerous to mention. She will be greatly missed. A memorial service will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday, September 21, 2009, at Church of the Holy Spirit, Orchard Hills by Pastor Scott McLucas. The family will receive friends following the service. Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home & Crematory.

I just heard about your mom. My heart breaks for you all. I have so many memories of hanging with Sherry and Tommy. What fun times we all had! Please let those memories comfort you now and always.
