Edith Dooley Obituary

Edith Bain Dooley, 87, a lifelong resident of Salem, Va., passed away on Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at her residence. She was born on February 1, 1922 in Salem, a daughter of the late Hubert Ward and Nellie May Bain. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Winfred Lee Dooley; sons, Robert Lee Dooley and Roger Frederick Dooley; and brothers, Chester W. Bain, Donald E. Bain, William W. Bain, Robert M. Bain, and Hubert L. Bain. Mrs. Dooley was a member of West Salem Baptist Church. Her surviving family includes a special nephew, Lacy Dudley and wife, Dicy; and grandchildren, Jake and Josh Dooley and their mother, Diane. The family will receive friends on Friday, September 25, 2009 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2009 at 1 p.m. at Sherwood Memorial Park in Salem. The Rev. Rick Brown will officiate.
