Ruth Allen Obituary

Ruth Clemons Allen, 69, of Boones Mill, Va., died Wednesday, September 23, 2009. Ruth was a babysitter for many years and was a companion sitter, devoted mother and grandmother to all. She was preceded in death by her parents, Al and Verna Lynch Clemons; sisters, Mary Frances Clemons and Linda Jacobs Doughton; nephew, George Allen Clemons Jr. Surviving are her two sons, Guy Allen and wife, Patricia, Timothy Allen; two daughters, Mary Allen and Warren Newbill, Lisa Paige and Walter Smith; nine grandchildren, Jaimee, Torria, C.J., Patrick, Justin, Ali, Josh, Hailey and Hayden; brothers and sisters-in-law, George and Henrietta Clemons, Warren Clemons, Chucky Clemons, all of Nashville, Ark., J.T. and Nancy Clemons, of Rocky Mount, Harold Clemons, Glenwood and Teresa Clemons, Delmas and Sally Clemons, all of Boones Mill; one sister and brother-in-law, Hazel and John "Billy" Ratcliffe, of Boones Mill; many nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday from the Clemons Family Cemetery with the Rev. James Steele officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family to assist with expenses. Visitation will be private. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service, Rocky Mount.
