Dorothy Gregory Obituary

Dorothy (Dot) Gregory, 80, of Roanoke, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, September 26, 2009, after a long illness. She was predeceased by her mother, Effie D. Goad; and many other family members and friends. She was a giving, understanding, and loving mother, grandmother and friend. She is survived by her daughter, Judy Downs and her husband, Butch; granddaughters, Kristie Tilley and Kara Downs; lifelong friends, Calvin and Louise Powers. Visitation will take place on Sunday, September 27, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Oakey's North Chapel. Funeral services will be held at Oakey's North Chapel on Monday, September 28, 2009, at 2 p.m. and the Rev. Mark Washington will be officiating. Burial services will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Flowers are welcome or donations to the Hollins Road Baptist Church building fund may be made in her honor. " She is now a Guardian Angel for all she leaves behind and will be loved and missed until we meet again in Heaven."
