I remmber the the very first time I met Ralph, he never said much, just looked at me-that was over twenty years ago. Over the years I grew to love Ralph very much ,he was like my second dad.He was always there to listen to me when life became difficult. He would always say "I know baby I know." and he did. We shared alot in the last few months. I could always tell when things were getting him down, although he never complained he would always say he was fine although we both knew that was his way of saying mind your business.Ralph was one of the best and I will truly miss him -who will listen to me ,pat my hand and say " I know baby,I know" that was reserved just for Ralph. Although Ralph had to leave us he left us with alot of great memories and he will forever live on in my heart.

On July 2, 1942, god blessed the world with a great man named Ralph Helms Sr. better known to me as "shiz shi". There never came a time I can recall when my godfather "shiz shi" didnt have a smile on his face. I think back to all those days watching the old black and white westerns and Andy Griffin with "shiz shi" and asking, "where is the color." How about the Nascar races that were soooo long i would go to sleep and wake up to the same race!!!! lol For years "shiz shi" had me really believing there was a small blue smurf in my stomach!...lol Oh the memories i have of my "Shiz Shi" and how much I loved him. I'll never forget when Auntie Lou got the trans am and I said "shiz shi" when i turn 16 is this going to be my car like vickie have a car? Even though our time together was shorter than what i like i know with all my heart, body and soul that he knew how much i loved him. On September 28, 2009 god felt the need to bring his angel home with him. "Shiz Shi" had done all that god needed him to do here on earth (in gods eyes)...I always said that my "Shiz Shi" was going to be the man to give me away when i get married but...god has something bigger for him to do. I know that my "Shiz Shi" is always here for me when the days are looking hard and the road is rough, I just think about him and his smile which brings joy to me!!!! LOVE YOU SHIZ SHI AND WILL MISS YOU FOREVER!! LOVE,
POOH BEAR

I've known Ralph since the very early 60's. There has always been so much love between his family and ours. Ralph was my buddy. The last thing we talked about before he went to the hospital was NASCAR. He laughed at me for betting on Jimmy Johnson to win the race. Jimmy Johnson almost won but ran out of gas near the end. Remember Lou? The thing that I loved the most about Ralph was how he took care of Lou. He was so devoted. He was always so sweet to all of us. He always told me how much he missed me, but it is I who will miss him. God loves you and He will take care of you.

There's no disappointment in Heaven,No weariness, sorrow or pain; No hearts that are bleeding and broken. No song with a minor refrain. The clouds of our earthly horizon will never appear in the sky,For all will be sunshine and glagness, With never a sob nor a sigh. Lou, I love you all and I will miss Bones alot, but he is in the hands of the Almighty.

Ralph has been apart of my life since I was 11 years old. He helped raise me, taught me how to drive a car, drove me on my 1st date, gave me away at my wedding, was there when both of my kids were born, never missed a birthday or christmas with the kids. He was more than a stepfather, he was my dad and i loved him very much. Im going to miss him with all my heart. He will live within our hearts always and forever. God bless you dad!

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.
