Geneva Adams Obituary

Geneva Little Adams, formerly of Christiansburg, Va., died peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, September 30, 2009, at Crozer Chester Medical Center in Chester, Pa., of complications from Alzheimer's disease. Devoted wife of the late Rev. Gilbert Adams, she is the mother of Evelyn M. Gehres (Edward), of Media, Pa., John G. Adams (Kim), of Marlette, Mich., and Mark N. Adams (Jo Lynn), of Salem, Va. She is also survived by eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Pansy Marie Frazier, of Jacksonville, FIa., is her surviving sister. A native of Wheelwright, Ky., she returned to the South in 1970 after nearly 30 years in Michigan. She was a devoted member of Good Shepard Baptist Church and a founding member of the Senior Saints. Over the years she was involved in local mental health organizations, senior citizen activities and several Bible study groups. Family and friends will long remember her gracious hospitality and goodwill. She was well known for her cooking skills, especially her incredible cookies and candy. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. on Sunday, October 4, 2009, at Horne's Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Edward D. Gehres and Mr. Johnny Martin officiating. Visitation will be held from 5 until 8 p.m. on Saturday, October 3, 2009, at the Horne Funeral Home. My childhood church was the little white church in front of the Adams' home (Mt. Top Mission). I remember your parents fondly. Mrs. Adams had such a soft, sweet voice and beautiful smile. May God give you comfort in knowing she is now rejoicing in Heaven.
