I just wanted to say how sorry I was to read of Agnes' passing, I worked with her at Lynchburg General in the early 1970's before I went into the Navy, she was a wonderful nurse and friend. She spoke of her children often, I live in North Carolina now, but enjoy reading the Lynchburg paper online, I was glad to see the photo she hasn't changed much from how I remember her. My thoughts and prayers are with her family, please know that your Mother was a role model for those of us who were fortunate to work with her.

To the family of Agnes Overstreet:
Just wanted to let you know that I am saddened at hearing of Agnes' passing. I've been thinking about her lately, wondering where she was living now.
During high school, I worked with Agnes at Lynchburg General. I always thought a lot of her and still have the memories of her jokes.
I was a 16 year old scared and shy kid. I remember she would chase after me, saying she was going to give me a kiss. Of course I would run; I didn't think she was kidding. (Someone later told me that she said she wouldn't know what she would do with me if she ever caught me.)
Another time (her best one yet) some nurses (not Agnes) asked me to take someone to the morque. There was a sheet over the body. Once I got the stretcher in the elevator and the doors closed, she (Agnes!) rose up under that sheet and grabbed me. Man, did I scream.
But I loved her and just wish I could have talked to her before she passed. I will never forget her!
I'm praying the Lord will comfort you in this time of sorry.
