Bill,Tim&Ian,
Petie and I were friends from RU. We went through child development together. She was always so much fun to be with and a wonderful person. Through the years, we were able to stay in touch and visit from time to time.
I will always remember her as an inspiration to all, taking control of her life, making things happen and keeping a positive outlook. I know she is in heaven now beside her mom and sister, cheering us on to do the same thing.
I am sending you love and condolances from my family[Jeff, Jeffrey(11)& Wesley(8)]to yours. Our prayers are with you all.

I miss you Petie. I know why God took you: because he only wanted the very best beside him. May you shine with him down on all of us and continue to inspire us.

I will miss her smile and her laugh and her wonderful spirit. I went to elementary school with her then she moved away. Ten years later I heard her name being called at roll in my English class at Radford University. We got to know each other again. She helped me a lot with her words when my mother passed in 1986.

Bill & Family; I was so very sorry to read of Petie's passing. I remember working with you Bill at Harvey's and how you tried to stay upbeat and the search for a donor. Despite what you and she went through, you both kept a positive attitude and smiles on your faces. She was truly a beautiful young woman. I'm so glad she married and was able to have a son to help raise. I know he, along with everyone else, learned a lot about living by her example. You now have the best Guardian Angel ever. Love and Prayers, Connie Morris-Lytton

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

Tim & Family:
I was so sorry to hear about Michelle. I know you will miss her because you always seemed to be very close and besides that I understand she was a great cook. I remember when I worked in the office of University Relations she would send us goodies at Christmas. Know that she is singing with the angels in heaven.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and her family.

Tim and Michelle's family,
Michelle was truly an angel on earth. She was one of my top 5 heros. Actually, she was number 2 right behind my mom.
I will always remember the wonderful Stations of the Cross she created in the woods outside of her house. She invited several of us and our dogs to partake in the Stations. This was during the Lenten Season. What a special day with an irreplaceable special person.
God bless you all

Michelle's Family
I worked with Michelle at Big Brothers/Big Sisters in Christiansburg. She was wonderful at her job. She truely cared about the children and families that she worked with. The Board of Director's, the staff as well as the families she worked with all adored her.
Michelle was definitely a driven person. It showed in all parts of her life. Even though I worked with Michelle, I also enjoyed her friendship and we had some great times together. She was assertive and stood up for herself but always did it professionally and in a caring manner. She never allowed her health to interfere with her enjoyment of life. She will continue to be an inspiration to me.
My prayers are with you during this difficult time.
