Michelle Lineberry (Petie) Mullins, 44, of Pilot, Va., died on Saturday, October 10, 2009. Her spirit and love of life buoyed those around her even as she quietly coped with the effects a heart transplant she had in 1986. She was always grateful for that gift of life, and 20 years later, once she...

Not sure what to say?

Bill,Tim&Ian,
Petie and I were friends from RU. We went through child development together. She was always so much fun to be with and a wonderful person. Through the years, we were able to stay in touch and visit from time to time.
I will always remember her as an inspiration to all, taking control of her life, making things happen and keeping a positive outlook. I know she is in heaven now beside her mom and sister, cheering us on to do the same thing.

I am sending...

I miss you Petie. I know why God took you: because he only wanted the very best beside him. May you shine with him down on all of us and continue to inspire us.

I will miss her smile and her laugh and her wonderful spirit. I went to elementary school with her then she moved away. Ten years later I heard her name being called at roll in my English class at Radford University. We got to know each other again. She helped me a lot with her words when my mother passed in 1986.

May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived.

My thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. May your memories bring you comfort.

Bill & Family; I was so very sorry to read of Petie's passing. I remember working with you Bill at Harvey's and how you tried to stay upbeat and the search for a donor. Despite what you and she went through, you both kept a positive attitude and smiles on your faces. She was truly a beautiful young woman. I'm so glad she married and was able to have a son to help raise. I know he, along with everyone else, learned a lot about living by her example. You now have the best Guardian Angel ever....

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome...

Tim & Family:

I was so sorry to hear about Michelle. I know you will miss her because you always seemed to be very close and besides that I understand she was a great cook. I remember when I worked in the office of University Relations she would send us goodies at Christmas. Know that she is singing with the angels in heaven.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and her family.

In Christian Love,

Bill and family,
Michelle will be missed by all who knew her. She touched so many lives with her smile, laugh, cooking and kind heart. May all of us take comfort in knowing God welcomed you with open arms. Michelle has been reunited with her mother and sister for eternal life. We shared both good and bad times. I miss you my dear friend.
