I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I now have a first grade daughter, and I have recently been sharing with her tales of my own first grade year and my wonderful teacher, Mrs. Kiracofe. I had Mrs. Kiracofe in 1964 at Oakland Elementary School. Mrs. Kiracofe is remembered with fondness and gratitude by her many students.

You never forget your 1st grade teacher! Mrs Kiracofe is a fond memory of Oakland Elementary School. My parents tell a story about me coming home from school telling them what a beautiful teacher I had and how she smiled at us. My dad could hardly wait for the 1st PTA meeting so he could meet her. This would have been about 1961. My parents were a bit older than most parents & they were most pleased when they met Mrs Kiracofe. She was very special.

So sorry to hear of your loss. She was a great influence when we were growing up. I echo what Bonnie Smiley said beautifully. You guys are in my thoughts & prayers this week.
