Harold Snead Obituary

Mr. Harold Jordan Snead, 80, of Covington, Va., died on Monday, October 12, 2009. He was the husband of the late Peggy Jean Donovan Snead. Mr. Snead was born on March 1, 1929, in Covington, the son of the late Thomas E. Snead and Lelia Deaner Snead. Mr. Snead is survived by H.J. Snead II and wife, Julie, of Oakland Township, Mich., and Jeffrey S. Snead and wife, Stephanie, of Charlotte, N.C.; two daughters, Melinda Snead-Johnson and husband, Tuffy, of Covington, and Melissa Snead Hickok and husband, Jeff, of Richmond; and eight grandchildren, Seth Johnson and wife, Ashley, Eli Johnson, Noah Johnson, Tyler Hickok, Zach Snead, Erica Snead, Rachel Snead, and Jason Snead. Harold is also survived by three sistersin-law, Edith Snead, Norma Snead, and Eunice Snead; and a number of nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. on Friday, October 16, 2009, from the chapel of Loving Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening, October 15, 2009, from 6:30 until 8:30 p.m. at Loving Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at 1444 S. Fairlawn Drive at other times. The family suggests that memorial tributes take the form of contributions to Mountain Regional Hospice, P.O. Box 637, Clifton Forge, Va. 24422 or Covington Rescue Squad, 435 W.
