Mary Brooks Obituary

Mary Kate Brooks, 77, of Rocky Mount, Va., passed away Thursday, October 15, 2009. She was born May 2, 1932, a daughter of the late Thomas and Mattie Cundiff Moore. She was also preceded in death by her husband, George Robert Brooks; two sons, Jerry Lewis Brooks and Ronald "Buck" Brooks; granddaughter, Pamela Sue Weaver. Surviving are two sons, Johnny Moore and Tony Lee Brooks; four daughters, Mary Sue Lynch and husband, James, Helen Kirks and husband, Delin, Wanda Crouch and husband, Dean, and Rhonda Goad and husband, Jerry; grandchildren, Rita Goad, Melissa Brooks, Sara Crouch, Kennie Goad and Johnny Crouch; sisters, Lillie Florence and Bert. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 11 a.m. Saturday, October 17, 2009, with the Rev. Bill Doss officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to service and other times at the home, 156 Bowles Drive, Rocky Mount.
