David Bishop Obituary

David Justin Bishop, 35, of Christiansburg, Va., passed away suddenly on Saturday, October 17, 2009. Left to cherish his memory is his best friend, the love of his life and devoted fiancee, Melissa Thompson; his four children, Marcel and Jaylen Bishop, and Ashley and Matthew Bentley. He was the son of Sharon McGuyer Nowlin; stepson of Trigg Nowlin, of Christiansburg; and son of David Smith, of Lewisburg, Tenn. Also surviving are his sisters and brothers, Amy Marshall, of Fort Worth, Texas, Jonathan Nowlin, of Clarksburg, W.Va., Monica Nowlin, of Denver, Colo., Marcus Nowlin, of Christiansburg, Loretta Smith, of Hickory, N.C., David Smith Jr., of Murfreesboro, Tenn., Brian Smith, of Franklin, Tenn., and Mark Smith, of Hickory, N.C.; and three grandchildren, Alexis Nowlin, and Christopher and Christian Bentley. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to Christiansburg Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 176, Christiansburg, Va. 24068. The Bishop family is in the care of Horne Funeral and Cremation Service, Christiansburg, Va. Online condolences may be made at www.hornefuneralservice.com.
