Roberto Navarro Obituary

Roberto Gonzales Navarro, 53, of Narrows, Va., passed away on Sunday, October 18, 2009, at Carilion Giles Memorial Hospital in Pearisburg. He was born in Chicago, Ill., on December 27, 1955, and was the son of the late Marciellio and Alejandra Valduez Gonzales Navarro. Roberto served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam era, and worked as a commercial roofer for a number of years. He'll be best remembered for his charm and sense of humor. Left to cherish his memory is the love of his life, Rebecca Hedrick Navarro, of Narrows; along with his children, Andreas, Alejandra and Rebekah; a brother, Raymond Chassinge, of San Antonio, Texas; three sisters, Ruby Sanchez, Margaret Frias, and Elida Lopez, all of San Antonio; his mother-in-law and father-inlaw, Merrell and Arlene Hedrick, of Narrows; two brothers-in-law, Phillip Hedrick, and Anthony Hedrick and wife, Debbie, all of Narrows; a niece, Sydni Hedrick; a nephew, Wesley Hedrick; and beloved cat, Precious. The family will receive friends in the chapel of Riffe's Funeral Service in Narrows on Tuesday, October 20, 2009, from 5 to 7 p.m. with a service at 7 p.m. Burial will be held 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 21, 2009, in the Peterstown Cemetery with Graveside Rites conducted by VFW Post #6000 of Narrows, American Legion Post #68 of Narrows, Post #311 of Pembroke, and Post #145 of Peterstown. The family requests that those sending memorial contributions, please consider Ballard Christian School; HC 77, Box 106, Ballard, W.Va. 24918.
