Stephanna McFadden Obituary

After a 5 month battle with liver cancer, our beautiful mother and grandmother, Mrs. Stephanna Craghead McFadden, went home to be healed by her Lord and Savior, in her home in Roanoke, Va., on Tuesday, October 20, 2009. Stephanna is preceded in death by her first husband of 52 years, Kenneth S. Craghead; her mother, Gertrude L. Tucker; father, Stephen Lawrence; stepfather, Everett Tucker; and husband, Henry B. McFadden. Stephanna is survived by her son, Stephen Craghead, of Staunton; daughter, Judy Whitson, of Roanoke; son, Alan Craghead and wife, Rebecca, of Navarre, Fla.; along with five grandchildren; three greatgrandchildren; and playful companion, Jake the Dog! Stephanna was a long time member of Bethel Baptist Church in Salem. She retired from Kroger's Division Office in Salem after 38 years of service.
Mom, we know that you are happy in the presence of our Savior today, but OH! How we will miss you so, here! We will miss your smile, your warm embrace, your prayers for us, your loving instruction, and your peanut butter balls! Heaven is a more joyous place now than it was before, for there is a Treasure there more precious then any earthly treasureYou.
Until we see you again,
Your Blessed Family
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, October 22, 2009, at John M. Oakey and Son, Salem. Steve, Judy, Alan,

Your mom (and dad) were dear folks, and I know that she will be missed. My prayers and thoughts are with you; you were always good neighbors, and I owe so much to Steve, particularly.

On another note, I'd love to reconnect with any/all of you either via email or Facebook; I believe there will be an email link, and feel free to write.

Stephanna, I am so sorry you have gone from this earth and I will miss you dearly, but I know you are in a better place and suffer no more. You were such a dear friend to me for so many years and I will always have those memories, especially our last dinner together.
GOD Bless each family member and Trust in God for your Confort and Peace.

I worked with Stephanna for many years at Kroger. She always made sure we were invited to her church and often we went. I knew her family and how much they were a part of her life. I will remember her as a sweet Christian who loved us and was a pleasure to work with. GOD bless the family. Priscilla Hayes

I am so sorry to hear about Stephanna passing away. I've seen her several times since she remarried, but she wasn't ill when I saw her last. I'm sure it's comforting that you know she's in Heaven with Kenneth. The wonderful memories she left you and her faith will be very comforting to you as you move on with your life. She was such a beautiful person and will be missed by all who knew her.
