April McAllister Obituary

April Denise (Denni) Arnold McAllister, 49, of Wytheville, Va., passed away Sunday, October 25, 2009, as the result of an automobile accident. She was born November 7, 1959, in Wythe County. She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth R. Arnold. April attended Rural Retreat Baptist Church and was a member of the Wythe County Rescue Squad. She was employed with Klockner in Rural Retreat. April and her late sister, Judy Camper, who was also in the accident, were very close. Living next door to each other, they were inseparable. She is survived by her husband, Tony McAllister; one daughter, Lacie Machelle McAllister, of the home; one son, Ethen Trent McAllister, of the home; her mother, Virginia Jones Arnold, of Piney, Va.; two sisters , Dale and Randolph King, of Speedwell, Va., Libby and Mark Croy, of Wytheville, Va.; one brother , Kenneth and Kelly Arnold, of Piney, Va.; mother-in-law, Mary McAllister, of Wytheville, Va.; brothers-in-law, Keith McAllister, of Rural Retreat, Va., Mark Camper, of Wytheville, Va. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 29, 2009, at 11 a.m. at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church with the Rev. Norman Wilhoit and the Rev. Jason McNeese officiating. Interment will be held in Evergreen Cemetery immediately following the interment of her sister, Judy Camper, at Mt. Zion Cemetery. The body will be taken to the church where the family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 to 9 p.m. or at the residence of her mother at any time. Barnett Funeral Home, Wytheville, Va., is in charge of arrangements.

TO APRILS HUSBAND,CHILDREN,AND EMS FAMILY MEMBERS...APRIL WAS AN INSPERATION TO ALL THAT KNEW HER.NO MATTER HOW SHE FELT SHE NEVER FAILED TO HAVE A SMILE ON HER FACE OR A KIND WORD TO GIVE YOU...SHE LOVED HER FAMILY SO DEARLY, AND SHE WAS THE SWEETEST PERSON I KNEW.I MET APRIL THROUGH THE RESCUE SQUAD..I DIDNT KNOW HER AS LONG AS SOME OF THE OTHERS THERE. BUT WHAT I DID KNOW OF HER I THOUGHT SHE WAS A GREAT EMT AND A GREAT FRIEND AND PERSON....I WILL MISS HER AS WILL OTHERS...BUT TO HER FAMILY JUST REMEMBER SHE STILL OH SO CLOSE TO YOU!
