John Sisson Obituary

John Stanley Sisson, S/Sgt., United States Army, Ret., passed away Sunday, October 25, 2009, at the North Carolina State Veteran's Nursing Home in Fayetteville, N.C. He was born on August 15, 1925, to Cliff William and May Sisson in Shawsville, Va. John was a veteran of World War II and the Korean conflict. lie was a charter and honorary member of the Crains Creek Volunteer Fire Department in the Mount Pleasant community since 1977. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Marion; his parents and brothers, Dayton, Harless, and Julius "Jute" Sisson. He is survived by nephews, Sgt. Major Clifton R. Sisson, USMC, Ret., Col. James L. Sisson, USAF and Dale Sisson; nieces, Sandra Killion and Faye Weldon; and special friends, Bruce and Sandy Campbell, and Carlin and Suzanne Bunnell. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 30, 2009, at Countryside Presbyterian Church, 127 Ponderosa Road, Cameron, N.C., from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral service with Full Military Honors will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 31, 2009, at the church with burial in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Crains Creek Fire Department, P.O. Box 999, Vass, N.C. 28394. Adcock Funeral Home, Spring Lake, N.C., 910-497-0171, is serving the family.
