Minor Drummond Obituary

Minor A. (Buck) Drummond, 80, of New Castle, Va., passed away on Monday, October 26, 2009. He was born on June 19, 1929, in Craig County, where he lived his entire life. He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd A. Drummond and Ila Cruise Caldwell; wife of 54 years, Nadine Francisco Drummond; and brother, Calvin Pollard Drummond. He is survived by his daughter, Judy Parsons and husband, Gary; son, Jim Drummond and wife, Nancy; grandchildren, Paris Parsons and wife, Jackie, Selena Strickler; a special great-grandson, Seth Parsons; sister, Nancy Doyle; stepsister, Sylvia Caldwell; and many nieces and nephews. Buck retired from VDOT after 39 years of service. He owned and operated Drummond Oil Company and farmed his entire life. The family will receive friends at Paitsel's Funeral Home from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, October 28, 2009. The funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, October 29, 2009, at Paitsel Funeral Home with Pastor Roger Counts officiating. The interment will follow at Huffman Memorial Park.
