Thelma Hunley Obituary

Thelma Agnes Richardson Hunley, 91, of Elliston, Va., passed away Sunday, October 25, 2009. She was preceded in death by her parents, John William and Myrtle Reese Richardson; two brothers; eight sisters; her first husband, James Kingery I; second husband, Albert Hunley and a daughter, Ciatta Iris Kingery. Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, James II and Sandra D. Kingery; grandchildren, Terry and Sherry Kingery, James Kingery and Nancy, Mark Kingery and Shannon; eight great-grandchildren and five greatgreatgrandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted 12 noon, Thursday, October 29, 2009, at Lafayette United Methodist Church with Pastor Elwood Carwile officiating. Interment will follow in Richardson Family Cemetery, Ironto. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Lotz Salem Chapel. The family would like to thank the staff at Lewis Gale Medical Center and those who assisted at Richfield Health Care Center. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lafayette United Methodist Church. Arrangements are being handled by Lotz Funeral Home, Salem.

Aunt Thelma was such a lovely lady with a great sense of humor. Although I have not had the opportunity to visit the family in a number of years I do remember great visits with my grandmother, Annie Obenchain and a few great family reunions! I am so very sorry for your loss... my thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

Aunt Thelma you will be greatly missed. You will always hold a special place in my heart. The times spent at your home were the best and I will never forget them.
Jimmy, Sandra and Family I know this is a sad time, but rejoice in the fact she is gone to a better place. My heart is with you Jamie, Sherry, Terry and Mark because I know what it is like to lose a grandmother. Keep her in your heart and always remember the joy she has brought into you lives.
