Edna Kincer Obituary

Edna Spraker Kincer, 86, of Rural Retreat, Va., passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, November 11, 2009, in the home she has lived in for 50 years. She was born in Wythe Co., Va. on April 18, 1923, the daughter of the late Hobert Spraker and Pearl Henley Spraker. Edna was preceded in death by her husband, Stafford Leon Kincer; a son, Stafford L. Kincer Jr.; and is survived by two children, Dennis Earl Kincer and wife, Nica C. Kincer, of Roanoke, Va., Suzi Kincer Hall and husband, Sam Hall , of Rural Retreat; two sisters, Lena S. Flannagan, of Wytheville, Va., Nancy S. Etosh, of Richmond, Va., two brothers, Jim Burt Spraker and wife, Jean Spraker, of Cripple Creek, Va., Bill Spraker, of Wytheville; 10 grandchildren and spouses; 11 greatgrandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 2:30 p.m. Friday, November 13, 2009, at the Rosewood Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Rural Retreat with Pastor Jonathan Hamman officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Friday at the Rosewood Mausoleum. The family suggests that those who prefer may make memorials to the Rural Retreat Volunteer Emergency Services. Lindsey Funeral Home, Rural Retreat, Va. is in charge of arrangements.
