Whitey was an unusual person. He watched over us- and our kids. He pulled my own son and siblings out of many a scrape. He also kept them from getting into many a scrape!
He was a smart man who knew that sometimes you had to watch and pick your battles.
He was always good for a strong argument though!
He protected us all- be it as a arm of the law or the Rescue Squad.
He was my neighbor, friend and fellow squad member.I have many very fond memories of Whitey. He was always special in my heart.I am blessed to have known him and his family. God Bless Whitey.Love to you all,
Patty,Kerry and Lee

Dear Frances and Family,

Was so sorry to hear of Whitey's passing. I know you will miss him dearly. Our thoughts and prayers with each of you. If there is anything we can do just let us know. I will never forget the time my grandmother played a trick on him at the squad building.
All he would say was Miss Mae that was dirty. And he would never forget it. He was always playing tricks on our Junior members and they were trying to get him back at him. So they filled his tire up with rocks and they could not get him to leave, so Ms. Mae lent them a hand and told him she was not feeling well and asked him to take her home. So he was really concerned and thought she was really sick. When they went to pull off she got to laughing. And told her she played dirty.
He would always tell her he would never forget that. Your loved one was a funny man yet he could be serious to.
This was just some of our good times here in the Squad. We loved him and miss him.

Remember he is just away. Remember your good times you shared. That will keep you up lifted in your daily lift.

FRANCES, GIRLS AND FAMILY,
We really feel your pain as we have known Whitey through many experiences. (Town Council and Rescue Squad, and personally). We have so many warm and many funny stories
of Whitey. We know you will miss him deeply. We will miss him as well as will many families in Rockbridge County. He may be gone to be with
the Lord but will not certainly be forgotten.
