To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

Our thoughts are with you in the death of your father. How well I remember what a player Howard was on the Kenrose Maintenance Staff of the 60's and early 70's. We were moving fast in those days, and Howard was one of our finest. God bless you and yours.

THE THING I REMEMBER ABOUT HC AND NINA IS THAT WHEN I WAS A LITTLE GIRL GOING TRICK OR TREATING THEY ALWAYS MADE THE GHOST SUCKERS AND ALWAYS HAD THE CIRCUS PEANUTS. I LOVED TO GO TO THERE HOUSE AND WHEN MY SON WAS ABLE TO TRICK OR TREAT WE WOULD ALWAYS GO TO THERE HOUSE BECAUSE HE LOVE GOING AND NINA WOULD TAKE HIM IN AND HE WOULD ALWAYS COME OUT WITH SOMETHING LIKE CANDY OR SODA SHE WOULD ALWAYS SPOIL ALL THE KIDS. ALSO ALL THE KIDS CLOSE TO THEM IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD THEY WOULD ALWAYS BUY STUFF FROM US THAT THE SCHOOL WAS SELLING NO MATTER HOW MANY KIDS CAME BY.MY BROTHERS LOVED HC LIKE A UNCLE. MY THOUGHTS ARE WITH YOU AND YOUR FAMILY.

To Corky & Family, Polly & Family. HC for many years of my life was a father figure to me. He was the closest thing to a Dad that I had, he let me live with him and Nina, he took me fishing, he taught me how to drive and many of things people expect a father to do for his son. I loved him very much and he will be missed. You all are in my prayers.

Howard, you are in my prayers and thoughts.Just hold on to the memories and good times we shared with HC. He certainly cut us a lot of slack when we were growing up that's for sure. He was a wonderful man and friend. May God be with you.

To Corky, Polly, Carlton and extended family, You have my sincere sympathy at the loss of brother H.C. He was truly an inspiration. He always had a word or two of encouragement for me since I first came to First Christian Vinton 9 years ago. Our loss is surely Heaven's gain.

Corky and family, I worked with Howard and Nina at Halmode. We shared a lot of good times in the olden days. I guess that they will be able to find those precious stones a lot easier in heaven. The won't need the geiger counter to get to them. Now they are the added gems in heaven. I always thought a lot of them. I can see them holding hands and laughing. May God bless you and give you strenght to get through these hard times. June Moorman & family

I worked with Howard and Nina at Kenrose. Good people. I always could depend on Howard to make me laugh. He was always making a joke about something! My sympathy to the family in the loss of this good man.
