Winfred Sanders Obituary

Winfred Lee (Buddy) Sanders, 51, of Narrows, Va., formerly of Big Stoney Creek, died November 15, 2009. He was preceded in death by his parents, Winfred Henry Sanders and Agatha Martin Sanders. He is survived by his wife, Rhonda Blankenship Sanders; daughter and son-in-law, Keshia Dawn Sanders Plyes and Danny Cale Pyles Jr.; sister and brother-in-law, Brenda and Said Shama; niece, Kathleen VanSchoyck; nephew, Eddie Keogh. A Memorial Service will be conducted November 18, 2009, New Village Pentecostal Holiness Church, with Pastor Terry Mays officiating. Due to financial hardship, in lieu of flowers, monetary donations on behalf of Rhonda or Keshia may be sent to Celco Federal Credit Union, 3381 Virginia Ave, Narrows, Va. 24124. Buddy fought a very courageous battle against brain and lung cancer for two and a half years. A special thanks to all the family and friends who were so wonderful to us during our times of need, thanks to Dr. Jerome Goldschmidt of Blue Ridge Cancer Care and his entire staff, Good Samaritan Hospice, and special friends and family members Jeff Graham, Eric Height, Mark Jones, and Jeremy Lang.

Rhonda and Keshia:
I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. Buddy was my cousin (my mother is Juanita, Agatha's sister) and I have some wonderful memories of him when he was a child. I pray your memories will be as sweet and with the help of God, sustain you in the difficult days ahead. I know Buddy has been struggling for a long time, but his struggle is over now and he is at peace. God bless you all!
