Nellie Ratcliff Obituary

Nellie Sue Snider Ratcliff, 83, of Blacksburg, Va., died on Tuesday, November 17, 2009, at Richfield Recovery and Care Center. She was born in Montgomery County, Va., on August 15, 1926, to the late Bob and Bessie Sue Olinger Snider. She was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Lee Ratcliff; twin brother, Kelly Kent Snider; brother, Stanley Snider; and sister, Bertha Price. Mrs. Ratcliff retired from Blacksburg Middle School where she worked in the cafeteria. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Rosemary Ratcliff, of Christiansburg; daughters, Dianne Flinchum, of Blacksburg, and Wanda Gail Ratcliff, of New Jersey; grandchildren, Michael Ratcliff and wife, Kristy, of Pembroke, and Stephen Ratcliff and wife, Heather, of Christiansburg; and greatgrandchildren, Zack and Zyler Ratcliff, of Pembroke. The family wishes to give a special thanks to the nurses and CNA staff in the Memory Care Unit at Richfield. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. on Friday, November 20, 2009, in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg, Va. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday evening, November 19, 2009, at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, SW, Blacksburg, Va.
