Dear Kane Family,
Just heard the News Today of Ed's passing. I was wondering why he hadn't responded to my messages. He helped me through the before and aftermath of my own Father's passing 12/17/07. I had sent him my Father's Tool Belt with Suspenders, because I wanted to see it put to good use. He crafted a horse with my Father's Photo Branded on it, that will last for more than 100 years, and will be passed down through many generations. He took so much time and effort to make sure it was perfect. A photo of it appeared in the Country magazine Article about him.
Sadly Missed, as I was looking forward to having him make another horse for my new Grandson.
Much Love and Thought to you his Family. Lisa Ann Holden

I knew Ed from Econo Lodge when he did work for the Patel's. He was so nice and kind. He always had a smile on his face and/or a joke to tell. God bless the Kane family & let them be strong during this sad time.

OUR HEARTS GO OUT TO CINDY AND SARAH IN THE LOSS OF ED. ED WAS LIKE A FAMILY MEMBER TO US. WE ARE GOING TO MISS HIM DEARLY. ED WAS A VERY NICE, KIND AND A PROUD MAN. HE WAS PROUD OF HIS FAMILY CINDY AND SARAH. HE TOLD ME ABOUT SARAH GOING TO COLLEGE TO BECOME A VETERNARIN. ED WAS ALSO PROUD OF HIS ROCKING HORSES HE CREATED AND WHAT THEY DONE FOR HIM. HE WENT TO NEW YORK AND WAS ON THE TODAY SHOW, AS WELL AS BEING IN MAGAZINES, AND HIS INVOLVEMENT IN CHILDRENS BOOKS,CAKES OF SOAP WITH HIS ROCKING HORSES ON THEM. PICTURES FROM AROUND THE WORLD HE WOULD RECEIVE. HE WOULD SEND HORSES TO CHILDREN OF SOLDIERS OVER SEAS, OR DONATING A HORSE FOR A SPECIAL CAUSE. HE WAS A HARD WORKER WITH A BIG HEART. WE WILL NEVER FORGET OUR DEAR FRIEND.

To the family:
Ed Kane was the most genuine and good person that I have ever met. His loss, while most significantly felt by you all, has sent a tidal wave of grief through numerous individuals touched by his wonderful life. I am blessed to have known him and experienced first hand the person I want to be.

Dear Cindi and Sarah,
I am a high school friend of Ed's-- one of my many "big brothers" from the days at 7 Oaks Apts. We were recently in touch on Facebook. I know how proud he was of you, Sarah (we have college seniors in common) and your 30 year marriage, Cindi (another accomplishment we had in common!) and the Rocking Horse business and charity.
It reminded me of the treasures he produced in "wood shop" in high school, of the gentle soul Ed always was.
I am so saddened by the news, shared with me by The Florez's--mutual friends of many years.
My heartfelt sympathies and love to all the Kane family.
May the love of family and friends surround you and help you through this most difficult time.
