James Bush Obituary

James Bernand Bush Jr., 83, of Floyd, Va., departed this life on Saturday, November 21, 2009, following a long illness. Born and raised in Waynesboro, he was the son of James Bernard Bush Sr. and Grace Plank Bush. He served in the United States Navy and the U.S. Naval Reserve, and after graduating from Virginia Tech was employed until 1982 by the duPont Company in Martinsville. There he was active in the community and the Calvary Christian Church, but devoted the largest amount of time to the Boys Scouts of America and was Scoutmaster of Troop 75 for many years. After retirement he and his wife moved to Floyd County and were members of the St. Mark Lutheran Church in Willis. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Clinton Bush; two sons, James Clinton Bush and wife, Cindy, of Newport News, and David Crews Bush, of Clermont, Fla.; two grandsons, Wesley James Bush and wife, Hitomi, and Nathan Crews Bush; and one sister, Lou Bush Hersey, of Waynesboro.
