William N. Horton

William N. (Bill) Horton, 77, of Hillsville, Va., passed away on Sunday, November 22, 2009, at Twin County Regional Hospital. Mr. Horton was born in Carroll County to the late Waymon and Alma Beasley Horton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Rush Horton. He is survived by his wife, Hazel Bowman Horton, of the home; daughters and son-in-law, Jean Horton Nobblitt, of Abingdon, Va., and Lisa and Peter Smith, of Linfield, Pa.; grandchildren and spouses, Phillip and Alissa Nobblitt, Emily and Josh Herndon, and Jacob Smith; sisters and brother-in-law, Geraldine Alderman, of Hillsville, and Rubye and Maynard Marshall, of Hillsville; sisters-in-law, Vida Bowman, of Hillsville, Velma Horton, of Hillsville, and Catherine Horton, of Richmond; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 25, 2009, at Fairview Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Ronald Kronk and the Rev. Levi Humphreys officiating. Burial will follow in Wilkinson Memorial Cemetery. Military Rites will be conducted by the VFW Post #1115 of Hillsville.
