Adolphus R. Browning

Adolphus Browning Obituary

Adolphus R. Browning, 88, of Callaway, Va., died on Wednesday, November 25, 2009. He was a United States Army Veteran serving in World War II and a retired coal miner and carpenter. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lacy H. and Angeline Atkins Browning; brothers, Sid and Frank Browning; and sister, Bessie Ferrell. Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Nina M. Browning; sons and daughter-in-law, Arthur Doug and Gina Browning, and Robert Keith Browning; daughter and son-in-law, Myra and Thomas Angell; grandchildren, Terry, P.J. and Rodney Smith, Joey Browning, Tim and Jim Angell, Kimberly Browning, Beth Buckner, and Jan Walker; 16 greatgrandchildren; and one sister, Ruth Allis. Memorial services will be private. Friends may call at the family home. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service, Rocky Mount.
