Lottie Law Obituary

Lottie Goldie Arrington Law, 88, of Rocky Mount, Va., died on Monday, November 30, 2009. Lottie was born on March 20, 1921, a daughter of the late Joe Pete and Annie (Mamie) Arrington. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Terry Dalton Law; daughter, Faye Law Nichols Lomax; brother, Mac Leroy Arrington; sisters, Lucille Hodges, Judy B. Hodges, Ella Hambrick, Gertrude Hudson and Edith Wray; and infant great-granddaughter, Brianna Reeves. Lottie was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, greatgrandmother, who will be sadly missed by her family and friends, especially her little dog and loving companion "Lil Bit." Lottie loved taking her little dog to Waid Park every day and walking, as she did for many years until her health stopped her. Lottie was known for her beautiful sunflowers and working in her flower gardens and raising a garden for many years. She loved working outside. Lottie was a member of Evangelistic House of Prayer in Ferrum, Va. She loved her church dearly and rarely missed until her health kept her at home. She loved everyone at church and they were her family and friends, especially the Rev. Bud Nichols and wife, Bo. Surviving are sons, Terry Law, of Richmond, Larry Law and wife, Sharon, of Pensacola, Fla., and Doug Law and wife, Candice, of Rocky Mount; daughter, Mary (Lizzie) Maxey and husband, Alton, of Rocky Mount; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Betty Hollandsworth and husband, Larry, of Bassett, and Christine Dillon, of Wirtz; sister-in-law, Irene Arrington, of Rocky Mount; several special nieces, nephews and cousins; her loving little dog and companion, Lil Bit; special friends and home health nurses, Tonya Crager and Connie Martin, of Martinsville; and case worker, John Davids; who were all very kind and caring to Lottie and became her loving friends. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 3, 2009, from Flora Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Bud Nichols officiating. Interment will follow at Franklin Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, December 2, 2009, at Flora Funeral Service, Rocky Mount. www.florafuneralservice.com
