Still miss Paul..... haven't forgotten all the times we had at Woody's Auto Parts in Covington. It was a real pleasure knowing him for 25+ yrs. I hope Ann, Lynn and the rest of the family are doing ok....would like to contact you some day and share memories.

I sent a message earlier today but I guess it didn't get posted. It was simple. If I live to be 100, every time I hear the name 'Paul' I will think 'Uncle Paul.' He was a good man of quiet dignity. The kind of man boys like me wanted to grow up to be. I'm afraid I didn't quite measure up.
I will lovingly cherish memories of Uncle Paul always.
Alas, because of my own medical issues (I had a cancerous kidney removed earlier this year), I will not be able to attend the funeral. But most definitely, I will be there in spirit.

Paul Hendrick was a beloved uncle, a brother of my late father, William Hendrick, also of Roanoke. Paul was a quiet, caring man, and didn't mind showing it. He will be missed. I'm not a distant relative (except in distance, Atlanta) and grieve that this member of the famed Greatest Generation has left us. He was brave, serving proudly and sometimes dangerously in the European Theater of Operations in WWII. I deeply regret that I will not be able to be present at the funeral, but I will never forget "Uncle Paul," a wonderful man.
Bill Hendrick, formerly of northwest Roanoke. I've been away since 1956 but because of relatives like Paul, I've always felt Roanoke was home.

Very upsetting. I knew and worked with Paul for many years at Woodys. He taught me more than just about auto parts. Always quick with a funny line or joke..he made most everyone, young and old enjoy being around him. I missed him when he retired from Woodys years ago...i'll really miss him now. To Ann...and all the family..i'll be thinking of you (and Paul) always.
