Melba McCullough Obituary

Melba C. McCullough, 87, of Natural Bridge Station, Va., died on Sunday, November 29, 2009, at Stonewall Jackson Hospital in Lexington. Born on March 7, 1922, in Rockbridge County, she was the daughter of the late Charlie Campbell and Martha Myrtle Wilcher Campbell. Melba was preceded in death by her husband, Robert "Bob" McCullough. She was a member of the Faith Baptist Church in Natural Bridge Station and retired from Burlington Industries with 42 years of service. Melba was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Surviving are two daughters, Marlene Branch and husband, John, and Shirley Hill and husband, Delmas, all of Natural Bridge Station; four grandchildren, Randy Agnor, Mike Branch and wife, Charlene, Sissy Steelman, and Robbie Branch and wife, Dawn; four greatgrandchildren, Joshua Cash and wife, Jessica, Heather Chaplin, Jessica Humphries, and Ashley Kerr; and one great-great-grandson, Will Garver. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. on Wednesday, December 2, 2009, at Faith Baptist Church, Natural Bridge Station with the Pastor Terry Bostic officiating. Burial will follow at Glasgow Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, December 1, 2009, at Harrison Funeral Home and Crematory, Lexington, Va. Contributions can be made to Glasgow First Aid and Faith Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 353, Natural Bridge Station, Va. 24579. Arrangements by Harrison Funeral Home and Crematory, Lexington, Va.
