Arthur Myers Obituary

Arthur Eugene Myers, 88, of Rural Retreat, Va., The Cedar Springs Community, passed away on Sunday, December 6, 2009. He was born in Comers Rock, Va., on September 4, 1921, the son of the late William Myers and Bessie Hall Myers. Eugene was a member of the Blue Springs United Methodist Church and was preceded in death by a sister, Vola Myers; and is survived by his wife of 55 years, Eva Martin Myers; a sister-in-law, Virginia Dunford, of Wytheville, Va.; special nephews and wives, Richard and Jackie Keesling, of Seven Mile Ford, Va., and Jerry and Roxanna Keesling, of Troutdale, Va.; and several other nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held 8 p.m. on Tuesday, December 8, 2009, at the Lindsey Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Ginny Tompkins officiating. A committal service will be held 11 a.m. on Wednesday, December 9, 2009, at the Rosewood Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family requests that those who prefer may make memorials to the Blue Springs United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday evening prior to the service. Lindsey Funeral Home, Rural Retreat, Va., is in charge of arrangements.

Eva, Sorry to hear about Eugene's passing. Both you and he were very special people and were always good to me. You are in my prayers and may the Grace and Love of God carry you through the tough days ahead. Take confort in knowing people care and are praying for you.
